I'm obsessed with lips this year. lips are my favourite thing to make stand out.
here's a few of my favourite winter lipsticks this year!

left to right- mac lovelorn, mac rubywoo,  rimmel london amethyst shimmer, avon drawn to you, mac shy girl

let me know if any of you would like a review,
and also let me know whats your favourite winter lipstick is.

Saturday 14 December 2013

excuse me miss, theres a minion in your fridge!

hey everyone, i know this is late but, I've been in a cake coma.
nuff said!

it took 3 days to make, it was so challenging and time consuming, i almost gave up,
almost, but i didn't.
i know you wanna see it so here it is!

it in no way looks professional, its covered in lumps and bumps, the cake board's fondant covering crumbled off a little, but it was made by the family,
so that makes it amazing in my opinion, also this was my first time ever making anything like this.
the most I've done is a basic sponge.
i didn't watch a how-to, although i know theres a few dotted about the Internet,
i think its pretty awesome for a free hand cake thing!

basically, this is four layers of cake mix bags,
covered in vanilla butter cream.
fondant made with plain white fondant from shops,
coloured with gel food colouring.

on request, our minion doesn't have a goggle. it did have but, wasn't like so i had to remove it.
that's why theres black around the eye area.
the D on the pocket is instead of G for gru.
my little brother really liked it, as did my tummy!
we still have way more than half a cake left.
this serves so much. I'd say maybe 30+ depending how big you cut it!

click here to watch a how-to if your interested on trying it out too!

id love to know your opinion on it, is it good or bad?
also happy birthday to my little brother who turned 12!
kisses xoxo

current mascara addiction

hey guys,
i think around 1 or 2 months ago i picked up a couple new mascaras to try try out.
there was a 3for2 on at boots so i thought why not, tis the season, not that it was then but it is now so that's my sort of excuse covered!

i realised the other day I've formed a new routine. basically a combination of two mascaras that make my short, stubby lashes look 10x longer!

my lashes are naturally non insistent, so i was amazed by the results of the mascaras.
I've been using 17's blow out, volume sculpt tease x12 mascara along with,
rimmel London's scandal eyes Lycra flex mascara.

first off, 17's mascara is absolutely amazing! it retails at just £6.29
surprisingly its 100% clump free and gives the finish off full
fluttery lashes as you can see. i used only the smallest bit, even thought
when i have used a few coats the results remain the same.
i wouldn't say that this mascara as as good for volume, id say its more of a lengthening
mascara, but i personally couldn't assign it to just one category, meaning its good at both. it's perfect for anyone that isnt too bothered about a finish.
i highly highly recomend this mascara. its cheap, works great and it also has conditioning ingredient in it.
the formula is enriched with vitamin E and argan oil, that help the over-all hold.
i rate this mascara 5 out of 5. its defiantly going to be a staple in my makeup bag from now on!
i suggest you all try it out too!
click here to check it out in more detail!

next is the rimmel london mascara, i really really like this mascara,
but you have to apply this lightly or you end up with just two lashes in a massive clump if you know what i mean, its not cute!
the brush picks up alot of product  so i find myself wiping off a bunch back into the container before i apply it. what i can say is this lasts all day with no touch ups.
smudge proof, not water proof.
you know when somethings so funny you laugh so hard you cry,
if you wear this when that happens you will have black from your eyebrow to your cheek bones!
like the other day, me and my mum are like twins,
and she gave me a chocolate bar, but i had to act out the scene from charlie in the chocolate factory, where he finds his golden ticket, before i could eat it. (it was a you had to be there moment) it was funny and left me looking like a panda for real!
anyway, that got off topic!
this retails at £6.99, so supper affordable.
these are actually great secret Santa/ stocking stuffer ideas, id love getting these!
i rate this 4.5 out of 5. good mascara.
to check this one out in more detail also, click here!

I'll be back the day after tomorrow with a cake making, picture, sort of how to post thing.
depending on how it goes, you could see the despicable me cake I'm making for my little brothers birthday! woop woop!
if not I'm sure I'll come up with something

kisses, xoxo

Sunday 8 December 2013

christmas tag..

hello everyone!

i've seen a load of christmas themed tags floating about youtube latley and theres a couple i really want to do this year so i thought i better make a start before time runs out.

the first one im doing i saw two years ago on zoella's channel that she did with her brother joe, just because why not, tis the season!

1. when do you start getting excited about christmas?

i get excited for christmas around august time, its my all time favourite thing, ever.
i'd say after halloween, im like "oh yeahh, its christmas!", and its all i can think about!

2. do you still have advent calenders?

i havent had one in like four years, but i really want to get one next year. for me, opening advent calenders everyday makes christmas even more exciting.

3. whats your favourite christmas films?

i love muppets christmas carol, i watch it every year without fail. the grinch that stole christmas is good too, and the holiday is really good to.
also i had a video tape with mickeys christmas carol and a christmas miracle that i watched on christmas eve every year. i still have it and a VHS player, i think im the only one that has one. even though its for kids, im gonna stick it on to relive the tradition :)

4. do you have any funny christmas memories?

not that this is a funny memoury, but my strongest memoury of christmas was this one year when i was little. i remember coming into the living room with my presents stacked way up high on our sofa, it felt like they touched the sealing, i remember it feeling magical.

5. talk us through your typical christmas day.

well before , every year we woke up around 8 opened our presents and played with them and all that jazz. then we would spend the day at our granny and grandas. we would eat christmas dinner there and probably stay till 5ish, but last year was our first christmas without either of them there so it's basically just the same but at our house.

6. what do you eat for christmas dinner?

we've always had homemade soup with garlic bread to start.
then chicken, stuffing, kilted sasuages to us (pigs in blankets for everyone else)
mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, random veg and brussel sprouts.
then trifle for pudding.
yum :)

7. any christmas traditions?

not anymore sadly, but hopefully i will bring some back this year!
we always left out a carrot and some milk for santa. thats probably a tradition that everyone has.

8. whats your favourite christmas songs?

i love all i want for christmas, last christmas, do they know its christmas time, rocking around the christmas tree, christmas time, white christmas. merry christmas everyone, honestly love them all.

9. what is the best gift you ever recevied?

my dog smudge, hes my baby!

10. real or fake tree?

fake, i've never had a real tree!

merry christmas everyone!
xoxo

Baby its cold outside...

Ahh its finally here! December 1st, but at the same time, oh my god its December 1st, like where did the year go?
this is my favourite time of year, like Christmas is a super special time for me.
Christmas and bad weather come hand in hand, and this week i had to pick up my winter gloves, scarf and hat. you know, when your cant feel your hands or ears and you can see your breath when you talk, its time to crack out the hat, scarf and gloves!

also, a winter classic, jumpers have also been on me constant recently. I've decided to share a few of my top picks that i dont own but have my eye on, hopefully there will be something to suit your taste!

top left- newlook
bottom left- topshop
middle- romwe
top right- river island
bottom right- miss guided

i think i picked out some real different style jumpers, and i seriously want all of them.
id love to know your favourite one of my picks and also what yours is too!

kisses, xoxo

learn to love you!

hey guys, so right now, im currently sitting in bed with a big cosy jumper on, makeup all down my face, coconut oil in my hair, (it actually looks like i havent showered in a year) also im pretty sure i have sause on my face from dinner. i feel pretty rubbish, it hasnt been the most amazing day ever, and i deffently think in these times you have to learn to love yourself.

the first step in learning to love you is, stop comparing yourself to everyone around you. people are different for a reason! its healthy to compare but don't let it take over. you may think, uh who would want my body, my nose is too big and i don't have a thigh gap. i have big hips and my boobs aren't big enough. we only see the imperfections because we are so obsessed about looking perfect. i get so caught up on my imperfections i forget, i have a hour-glass figure, probably the most desired figure by us girls. i have big, full lips with a strong, pernounced cupids bow. i have a big butt, suddenly everyone wants bigger bums. i like all these things about me, but i never tell myself that.
starting from now, every time i think badly of myself, I'm going to write down of a sticky note one good thing about me and put in on my mirror to look at everyday as a reminder.

build up your confidence, stop worrying about pressure from the media. Don't be a sheep and follow the herd. be yourself and let your beauty shine. dress how you want to dress, act how you want to act, most importantly, eat what you want to eat! size has nothing to do with beauty. if your young, your probably surrounded by a ton of immature girls and boys that like to pick on your weight. being skin and bones will not make you any happier, any more popular, as long as your healthy, f*** them! don't let people design you, be your own artist.

feeling down, ugly, worthless, fat?, this is all just a state of mind. do what makes you happy and i swear you will feel so happy and positive.
just like a storm it will pass and reveal a hidden sunshine.

focus on what you know makes you happy, learn to change your state of mind. what people say doesn't matter, don't let them bring you down.
this was such a ramble, i get quite "into" these kinds of topics, everything ends up all over the place!
kisses xoxo

update: where i've been, whats coming up and rambling!

Hiya everyone, I've been a ghost on here for quite a while now, its been bugging me that i haven't really been on here since summer and now its like 8 weeks until Christmas?! where the heck did the time go?.
it's literally been a case of, I'll post tomorrow, I'll start fresh on Monday etc...
Buttt I'm happy to say I'm back and hopefully i will be post weekly on here until i get a routine worked out! also happy late Halloween!

whats happening with my fitness posts?

for now, I'm putting them on a hold, I've been battling a really nasty flare up of whatever wrong with me, if anyone wants me to talk in detail then send me a message and i shall do so, but for quickness, i have been stuck in bed basically since i was last on here. working out just Inst a option for me right now and that really really sucks. also shout out to demi Taylor, who left a lovely comment on my last fitness post, you really cheered me up so thank you!

what i have planned

Ive got a few ideas on some posts that will be up shortly and I'm super excited  about them. so stay tuned for them!

get fit with kirstennicc - exercise plan - week three - thursday

so today I'm super busy, i have a party type thing to go to, so that means my exercise is kind of going to be a little harder to fit in but in these times you just have to make it work!
and you know its not true when you say "theres no time, I'm too busy" everyone has at least half a hour of there day free.
today's workout will be the exact same as Tuesdays, i prefer the video workouts to be honest. the company ad the feeling of someone helping you through it makes me push harder for some reason!
i just hook my laptop up to my tv and go, super easy to do.

Thursday 29th august

warm up/ work out!

cool down!

half hour on the twist and shape as usual :)

sweet and simple workout :)
stay motivated!

get fit with kirstennicc - exercise plan - week three - tuesday

again, a day late, im super sorry, truth is ive been super unwell. basiclly i was visited by "tom" and i just had no energy, couldnt eat anything, and had the worst cramps imaginable. i spent about 70% of this last week/weekend sleeping and feeling sorry for myself.

last weeks workout plan was a major slack on my part, i felt so ill i just couldn't even, there was just no way it was happening. also Ive been getting really bad dizzy turns and cold sweats while working out, what is probably down to me being poorly. if you haven't read my intro to my health and fitness side of my blog, i explained everything there roughly.
my exercise and eating is all over the place, although the past two weeks combined i have lost 3 pounds which I'm really happy about considering all the obstacles that have been in the way since I've started, i need to focus on motivating myself for the better, its really not easy but I'm working through it, anyway too this weeks work out!
this week i decided to try something a little different, i found some workouts on you tube that i was interested in trying so that's what I'm doing!

Tuesday 27th august

warm up plus workout!

cool down

Beauty wishlist

so i know its still months away but, Christmas is coming up and I'm super excited for it. i love Christmas so much. my mum has been asking about things id like and what not, so i came up with 5 things id love to get!

1. shany cosmetics- the masterpiece 7 layer all in one makeup set.  £49.95/ £60.00

I've seen a ton of people rave about this product, and about shany cosmetics in general. after watching fashionista804's video on it a year ago, I've been super interested and keen on getting it for myself.
I'm also going to college and studying beauty at some point so this would come in so super handy for that.

2. Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. £20.00

I'm pretty sure almost everyone has this now, and to be completely honest i really don't need another palette like this right now, but the quality is amazing on these shadows, urban decay is so worth the money when it comes to there eyeshadow. people love this product for travelling and since I've been doing alot more of that recently, maybe that's a good enough reason to want this.

3. kenzo amour perfume. £46.75

I've had this perfume before and i literally cant rave about it enough! this lasts forever. like i wore a jumper and sprayed this perfume, i found the jumper like 7 months later no joke, the smell was still on the jumper and was so strong it smelt like i had sprayed it a second ago. i was amazed. most perfumes wear off if you go out or stay in, the smell just fades, this doesn't and is amazing. i recommend this for people of all ages, its perfect for young teens, young adults, middle aged and older, its just such a lovely smell. ugh i want it so much.

4. shany cosmetics- shany kissable colours lipstick set. £11.04

i really only want this because I'm on a shany cosmetic high and i just want all there products right now.
a plus about these lipsticks are that they are not tested on animals. that is very important to me, and other people so that's awesome. i was also interested after reading that they where pigmented with aloe Vera and vitamin e. that sounds pretty good for lips. i can imagine that these are super good quality and i really wanna try them out.

5. real techniques- real techniques starter kit. £16.49/£20.00

I've got the real techniques core collection kit and they are amazing, i recommend them to everyone. and i know these are great too and really just need to add some decent brushes to my collection.

hope you enjoyed and i'll be back soon

shoe review

just fab shoe review

a little about justfab

i remember watch one of Trisha paytas's you tube videos, where she hauled some justfab shoes, i instantly got jealous as that at the time, it was just available for Americans.
obviously its now here in the UK also.
its a subscription based website, the same as stylists pick.
you answer style questions and they send you a showroom every month of picks that you would like.
you don't have to pay every month, if your not interested for whatever reason you can skip the month.
there is currently a 2 for £35 sale on, for shoes and bags.
i suggest checking it out!

i bought these shoes months ago now, back in may/June time I'm sure and just haven't got round to talking about them. around may/June time i saw a advert on TV about just fab. showing off cute shoes and handbags, louring in us weak girls that crumbled in the first 10 seconds. i immediately signed up and ordered my two very first pair of just fab shoes.

these are the Antibes shoes in white
the wedge is about 5 1/2 inches with a 1 1/2 inch platform.
there not heavy on your feet, so apart from the height, there easy to walk in.
i love how casual or dressy these can be, there just a really good shoe to own.
you can get them in both black and white for only £35, and are currently in the two for £35 deal so hurry and snatch them up!
i did find i needed to stretch them out a little before they became comfortable enough to wear, that's the only thing but every ones feet are different.

hope you enjoyed, let me know if you check them out! kisses xoxo

boots buys

What I bought at Boots

Because I'm going away on Saturday, I picked up some things from boots to take worth me.
to start off with, I was so disappointed with the delivery service. I received my order a day late and all the lids to my mberto Giannini were smashed, it was hard to show since the lids are mirrored, but take me word for it. I'm probably not going to order online again. just a heads up!

I picked up this clean on me shower gel by soap and glory, I love love love soap and glory products. There so moisturising and lovely, I'll always recommend them. this was £2.50 and as you can see its travel size. I also picked it up in a 3 for 2 offer.

This daily smooth body butter is amazing, I had the full size a while back and never picked it up again. I got this to keep in my bag to use on my elbows and knees, because I'm going to be tanning so I want to be prepared, again this was £2.50.

I use this to take off my eye make up, it just works really well and gets the job done. I think this was £1.50 but I got it free in the deal.

Again this was just an essential that I needed more off. Nothing special just some cotton buds, I think these were about £1.

I needed a deodorant to take with me so I just randomly picked this, ( It was like 50p).

There was a 2 for £8 deal on so i thought id try out some products from Umberto Giannini's range. I've used the conditioner once and it works nice, nothing special. It smells really good and makes your hair soft and fluffy, like any bog standard conditioner.

I always use baby powder as a dry shampoo, it works wonders! but I decided to give this a go. It's the Thickify Dry Shampoo from the incredible body collection. I still need to use this for a bit before I'm gonna give a review.

Also from the incredible body collection I picked up the volume conditioner, just because I go through conditioner like mad and I can never have enough.

I really needed a heat protectant, so I picked up this one. It makes my hair a little sticky I've seen, but I'm gonna use it up and I'll give a proper review later on.

yet another haul...

Haul time!

so I went shopping in Glasgow this week and saw this really cute boxy vest top. For only £3 in the sale I couldn't pass it up. I'm not sure if its just me being a bit stupid but on the label it says glow in the dark.. so if these flamingos glow, what a bonus!

I picked this vest in h&m for £3, along with the flamingo print one, but I just couldn't find it online to leave a link, but I did find the exact vest on romwe if anyone is interested. They do worldwide shipping free of charge for anyone who wants to know!

Again I cant find a link to this, thinking its because these were sale items, I picked this high low skirt up for £7. I thought this would look nice on holiday at night. its a super soft mesh material, sometimes I find that meshy see through material can be very itchy and uncomfortable to wear but this is super lovely!

I popped a little vest inside to you could all see the high -low detail a little better.

No link for this again, but I'm sure if you go to a local h&m you will find all of these things.
this mint green skirt is so beautiful, is a strange material, it almost feels like wool or felt or something but I'm not too sure on the material. its thick so its perfect for are British weather. for £12.99 you just cant go wrong!

So this skirt was a super spontaneous buy, I down own anything like this and I wanted in on the neon trend. I have found the waist band is very uncomfortable and tight, not tight as in "muffin top" tight, just there's no stretch in the stretchy waistband, but for £5 you cant really complain!

I picked this up to wear to my cousins wedding that's happening in just a months time, its super sweet, girly and summery. it was £14, absolute bargain in my eyes. You all need to hit up the sales there's so much nice things!

The only thing I didn't pick up from h&m is this, pinafore dress from river island. I was drawn to it in store and I'm sure Gracie "uglyfaceofbeauty" on YouTube has this, and I suppose it made me want this more. its £22, super comfy. a really good buy.  recommend this dress.
