excuse me miss, theres a minion in your fridge!

hey everyone, i know this is late but, I've been in a cake coma.
nuff said!

it took 3 days to make, it was so challenging and time consuming, i almost gave up,
almost, but i didn't.
i know you wanna see it so here it is!

it in no way looks professional, its covered in lumps and bumps, the cake board's fondant covering crumbled off a little, but it was made by the family,
so that makes it amazing in my opinion, also this was my first time ever making anything like this.
the most I've done is a basic sponge.
i didn't watch a how-to, although i know theres a few dotted about the Internet,
i think its pretty awesome for a free hand cake thing!

basically, this is four layers of cake mix bags,
covered in vanilla butter cream.
fondant made with plain white fondant from shops,
coloured with gel food colouring.

on request, our minion doesn't have a goggle. it did have but, wasn't like so i had to remove it.
that's why theres black around the eye area.
the D on the pocket is instead of G for gru.
my little brother really liked it, as did my tummy!
we still have way more than half a cake left.
this serves so much. I'd say maybe 30+ depending how big you cut it!

click here to watch a how-to if your interested on trying it out too!

id love to know your opinion on it, is it good or bad?
also happy birthday to my little brother who turned 12!
kisses xoxo

current mascara addiction

hey guys,
i think around 1 or 2 months ago i picked up a couple new mascaras to try try out.
there was a 3for2 on at boots so i thought why not, tis the season, not that it was then but it is now so that's my sort of excuse covered!

i realised the other day I've formed a new routine. basically a combination of two mascaras that make my short, stubby lashes look 10x longer!

my lashes are naturally non insistent, so i was amazed by the results of the mascaras.
I've been using 17's blow out, volume sculpt tease x12 mascara along with,
rimmel London's scandal eyes Lycra flex mascara.

first off, 17's mascara is absolutely amazing! it retails at just £6.29
surprisingly its 100% clump free and gives the finish off full
fluttery lashes as you can see. i used only the smallest bit, even thought
when i have used a few coats the results remain the same.
i wouldn't say that this mascara as as good for volume, id say its more of a lengthening
mascara, but i personally couldn't assign it to just one category, meaning its good at both. it's perfect for anyone that isnt too bothered about a finish.
i highly highly recomend this mascara. its cheap, works great and it also has conditioning ingredient in it.
the formula is enriched with vitamin E and argan oil, that help the over-all hold.
i rate this mascara 5 out of 5. its defiantly going to be a staple in my makeup bag from now on!
i suggest you all try it out too!
click here to check it out in more detail!

next is the rimmel london mascara, i really really like this mascara,
but you have to apply this lightly or you end up with just two lashes in a massive clump if you know what i mean, its not cute!
the brush picks up alot of product  so i find myself wiping off a bunch back into the container before i apply it. what i can say is this lasts all day with no touch ups.
smudge proof, not water proof.
you know when somethings so funny you laugh so hard you cry,
if you wear this when that happens you will have black from your eyebrow to your cheek bones!
like the other day, me and my mum are like twins,
and she gave me a chocolate bar, but i had to act out the scene from charlie in the chocolate factory, where he finds his golden ticket, before i could eat it. (it was a you had to be there moment) it was funny and left me looking like a panda for real!
anyway, that got off topic!
this retails at £6.99, so supper affordable.
these are actually great secret Santa/ stocking stuffer ideas, id love getting these!
i rate this 4.5 out of 5. good mascara.
to check this one out in more detail also, click here!

I'll be back the day after tomorrow with a cake making, picture, sort of how to post thing.
depending on how it goes, you could see the despicable me cake I'm making for my little brothers birthday! woop woop!
if not I'm sure I'll come up with something

kisses, xoxo

christmas tag..

hello everyone!

i've seen a load of christmas themed tags floating about youtube latley and theres a couple i really want to do this year so i thought i better make a start before time runs out.

the first one im doing i saw two years ago on zoella's channel that she did with her brother joe, just because why not, tis the season!

1. when do you start getting excited about christmas?

i get excited for christmas around august time, its my all time favourite thing, ever.
i'd say after halloween, im like "oh yeahh, its christmas!", and its all i can think about!

2. do you still have advent calenders?

i havent had one in like four years, but i really want to get one next year. for me, opening advent calenders everyday makes christmas even more exciting.

3. whats your favourite christmas films?

i love muppets christmas carol, i watch it every year without fail. the grinch that stole christmas is good too, and the holiday is really good to.
also i had a video tape with mickeys christmas carol and a christmas miracle that i watched on christmas eve every year. i still have it and a VHS player, i think im the only one that has one. even though its for kids, im gonna stick it on to relive the tradition :)

4. do you have any funny christmas memories?

not that this is a funny memoury, but my strongest memoury of christmas was this one year when i was little. i remember coming into the living room with my presents stacked way up high on our sofa, it felt like they touched the sealing, i remember it feeling magical.

5. talk us through your typical christmas day.

well before , every year we woke up around 8 opened our presents and played with them and all that jazz. then we would spend the day at our granny and grandas. we would eat christmas dinner there and probably stay till 5ish, but last year was our first christmas without either of them there so it's basically just the same but at our house.

6. what do you eat for christmas dinner?

we've always had homemade soup with garlic bread to start.
then chicken, stuffing, kilted sasuages to us (pigs in blankets for everyone else)
mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, random veg and brussel sprouts.
then trifle for pudding.
yum :)

7. any christmas traditions?

not anymore sadly, but hopefully i will bring some back this year!
we always left out a carrot and some milk for santa. thats probably a tradition that everyone has.

8. whats your favourite christmas songs?

i love all i want for christmas, last christmas, do they know its christmas time, rocking around the christmas tree, christmas time, white christmas. merry christmas everyone, honestly love them all.

9. what is the best gift you ever recevied?

my dog smudge, hes my baby!

10. real or fake tree?

fake, i've never had a real tree!

merry christmas everyone!
